Installation Options

Please note that Binfer is not an online storage provider. Binfer provides software that is installed on a system in your own environment such as

  1. Home/office computers (Windows, Linux, or OSX)
  2. Cloud virtual machines like AWS, Azure, Godaddy, etc
  3. Docker
  4. NAS servers
  5. Raspberry Pi, Linux or Windows nano based IOT/embedded devices

Data transfer happens directly from your environment. Following are the main differences between on-prem and managed modes.

Managed

 
  1. No installation of dedicated server is required. No complex setup or ports. Create account, install and start sharing.
  2. Management console is hosted on Binfer’s server.
  3. All data is transferred directly between devices or relayed via Binfer server.
  4. All users and device information is kept on Binfer’s server.
  5. Binfer server cannot send and receive data with devices and users.
  6.  Cloud, WebDAV and Drive modules are not available.
  7. Suitable for individuals, professionals and small business.
  8. Data transfer plans available.
  9. Suitable for up to 10 users and/or devices.

On-Prem

 
  1. Requires installation of Binfer software  in server mode on a system. Needs port to be opened of local and external firewall.
  2. Management console is hosted on your server.
  3. All data is transferred directly between devices or relayed via your server.
  4. All users and device information is kept on your server.
  5. Server system can send and receive data with devices and users.
  6. Additional modules like Cloud, WebDAV and Drive are available.
  7. Suitable for mid to large business and enterprises.
  8. Unlimited data transfer.
  9. Suitable for any number of devices and users.
